This week, media outlets have reported that various anesthesiologists affiliated with American Anesthesiology of North Carolina, the Mednax-affiliated provider of anesthesia, pain management and critical care in the Triangle, will no longer be in-network under UnitedHealthcare.

This does not impact members on the State Health Plan's UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage Plans.

As a precaution, State Health Plan members are encouraged to practice the same prevention methods as for the seasonal flu and other respiratory viruses. Click for more information.

During the 2020 Open Enrollment period, which was held this past November, active employees and non-Medicare retirees could reduce their monthly premiums by completing the tobacco attestation through the online enrollment process in eBenefits. Outside of Open Enrollment, there is not an opportunity to complete this activity unless you are a new employee.

The State Health Plan has expanded preventive care benefits for 2020. Preventive care is now available in all three plans – the 70/30 Plan (new this year), the 80/20 Plan and the High Deductible Health Plan – with no out-of-pocket costs to you! Click here to learn more.
