Recovering from a disruptive event

Hurricane Season is Here — Are You Ready?

Hurricane season is June 1 through November 30. No matter how much we try to be safe and prepare for the worst, natural and even man-made disasters locally and nationally can take us by surprise and distract and concern us at home or work.

Whether a crisis involves one member of the organization or the entire workforce, the emotional impact can touch everybody, impairing work performance, morale, physical health, and psychological well-being.

We all hope for a mild storm season. But just in case, here are some resources to help State Health Plan members prepare for the worst, cope during an event and recover afterwards.

State Health Plan members who experience ongoing disruption in their ability to cope after an event can contact Beacon Health Options 24/7 at 800-367-6143 to request a telephonic assessment and referral to a provider that can help.
