TRICARE
Based on federal legislation, the State Health Plan, effective January 1, 2008, will no longer be able to provide North Carolina state employees or retirees with the option to choose the TRICARE supplement in lieu of the State Health Plan.
Eligible employees may continue supplemental TRICARE coverage on an individual basis beginning January 1, 2008. However, please note that employees will not be able to have the premiums drawn from their paychecks and will have to be direct billed. Employees who are interested in this option should review the documents listed below and complete the necessary forms.

- Continuation of Coverage for Existing Enrollees Form
Employees, who wish to continue their TRICARE supplement on an individual basis, must complete this form and submit it to the address listed on the form.
Employees who continue their TRICARE supplement individually can pay their premiums through a monthly automatic deduction. To enroll in this option, these employees should complete this form.
