“Doc for the Day” at the NC General Assembly
Bruce E. Norman, MD, Chief Medical Officer for the North Carolina State Health Plan, served as the North Carolina General Assembly’s “Doc for the Day” on Monday, June 16th at the State Legislative Building in Raleigh. In his role as standing physician, Dr. Norman was responsible for administering care for any acute medical needs of Legislators during the session. “This was a unique opportunity to meet with our state leaders,” said Norman. “As Physician of the Day, I was able to provide some timely medical assistance, and observe the Senate and House conducting the work of our state government. In addition, it also offered the perfect opportunity to discuss some important topics, such as the State Health Plan’s commitment to wellness.”
