DOT Worksite Wellness Initiative Underway

StokesMembers of the Department of Transportation (DOT) Worksite Wellness Project Oversight and Evaluation committees convened at the offices of the North Carolina State Health Plan for their inaugural meeting on Wednesday, March 12.  Representatives from each of the partners for the DOT Worksite Wellness Initiative began the meeting with a welcome from the State Health Plan’s executive administrator, George C. Stokes, as well as remarks by Dan Devane, chief deputy secretary for the Department of Transportation.  Representatives from NC Prevention Partners, Health Dialog, as well as the funding partner, AstraZeneca, attended the day-long planning session designed to chart a path to the future for this important wellness project.

The DOT Worksite Wellness initiative, announced on February 5, focuses on improving the health and wellness of DOT employees.  The project was made possible by a $1.5 million donation from Astra Zeneca, LP.  For further information on this innovative project, click here.
