NC HealthChoice
Effective July 1, 2010, the North Carolina HealthChoice (NCHC) program will be administered by the North Carolina Division of Medical Assistance (DMA). The toll free number for questions regarding NCHC medical benefits and claims will remain the same: 1-800-422-4658. However, there is a new toll-free number for members to call with questions regarding pharmacy benefits: 1-800-466-4115.
Families who make too much money to qualify for Medicaid but too little to afford rising health insurance premiums can get free or reduced-price comprehensive health care for their children through the North Carolina Health Choice for Children program. This plan, which took effect in October 1998, includes health benefits, with the addition of vision, hearing and dental benefits (following the same guidelines as Medicaid).For more information, visit the North Carolina Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) Web site.
