If a member is taking one or more of these medications, they should consider receiving them through the mail from the Medco Pharmacy, at a Walgreens retail pharmacy in North Carolina or Boone Drugs and Affiliates. Members can benefit from the services of pharmacists who receive extra training in the medications used to treat these conditions and can speak to members about the importance of taking these medications as directed, when a prescription is filled at either of these pharmacies.

For mail order, members may opt into this program and would receive a phone call prior to their automatic refill and shipment of the medication. At Walgreens or Boone Drugs, ask the pharmacist about this option.
  4. Extended payment plan (Medco mail order only): This allows members to pay for a 90-day supply of a medication over time instead of all at once.
