The North Carolina State Health Plan is pleased to promote good health by making flu shots convenient for our members. The flu shot program will run from October 1 through December 31, 2007.
Through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s (BCBSNC) flu shot program, the flu vaccine is available to all State Health Plan members at no charge when they receive a flu shot at their doctor’s office or workplace.

Expanded Intensive Case Management Services |
The State Health Plan is pleased to offer expanded intensive case management services to support our members with complex medical needs.
To provide these services, the State Health Plan has contracted with SHPS, based in Louisville, Ky. SHPS provides a broad range of innovative health management tools, resources and services, supported by registered nurses, health professionals and IT experts. Find out more.

Important Information for Members Taking Actonel |
|
As of October 1, 2007, Actonel® will be placed in the non-preferred copay tier, for which members will pay $50 for up to a 34-day supply.
Any members who wishes to remain on Actonel® will be required to have their health care provider complete a coverage review with Medco, the State Health Plan’s prescription drug benefit manager, to determine whether Actonel® can continue to be covered under their prescription benefit plan.
