Marci Wilding

Marci Wilding is director of government affairs of the State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees. She joined the State Health Plan in December 2006.

Wilding has extensive experience in government relations and legislative affairs. Previously, she was the manager of public policy initiatives for the American Cancer Society, North Carolina where she lobbied members of the North Carolina General Assembly on cancer topics, tobacco use prevention, physical activity and nutrition. Wilding also chaired the North Carolina Alliance for Health.

Before joining the American Cancer Society, Wilding worked with the North Carolina Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Task Force to coordinate Legislative Heart Health Day. She also worked as a senior policy specialist at the American Nurses Association in Washington, DC where she advocated for the group’s priorities to members of Congress.

Wilding received her Bachelor of Arts in government and politics from the University of Maryland at College Park.

Wilding serves on the board of NC Prevention Partners.
