Tracy D. Stephenson
Director of Pharmacy Benefit Administration

Tracy D. Stephenson is director of pharmacy benefit administration for the State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees. She joined the State Health Plan in July 2002.

Before joining the State Health Plan, Stephenson worked with the Department of Insurance in the Consumer Services Division. Previously, she worked in private sector health care administration for 15 years. 

Stephenson oversees the management, development and enhancement of all aspects of the State Health Plan’s pharmacy contracts and programs.  Her responsibilities include: implementing strategic pharmacy initiatives; overseeing the State Health Plan’s pharmacy benefit manager contract to ensure maximum economic value to the Plan; and managing the Plan’s Medicare Part D program.

Stephenson attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she studied business management.  She serves on the Government Advisory Panel for Medco, the State Health Plan’s pharmacy benefit manger.
